Classroom Rules:
1. Respect others and their property.
2. Raise your hand for permission to speak or leave your seat.
3. Listen when someone is speaking.
4. Follow directions quickly.
At the beginning of the school year it is important for the teacher to establish a solid foundation in the classroom to avoid behavioral problems (Capizzi, 2009). I feel that it is important for the teacher to have the classroom rules and consequences posted clearly on the classroom wall for all to revisit throughout the school year. Establishing rules and procedures help create a higher quality for learning, safety, and accountability. If there were no rules or regulations in place the school itself would lack structure and would not be able to provide adequate educational needs the students attending that specific school. Teachers who use rewards and consequences have students with less challenges and more student motivation (Moberly, Waddle, Duff, 2005).

1. Warning (verbal)
2. Negative ClassDojo
3. Detention
4. Call Home
5. Sent to the Office
At the beginning of the school year I will communicate what is expected of my students. If my students fail to comply with the classroom rules and regulations then they will follow the classroom behavior (consequence) process. The first consequence will be a verbal warning to stay on task. My classroom will use Class Dojo this is an app that helps to connect teachers, parents, and students by sharing the student’s behavior daily and their overall weekly percentage. The students are also able to view their classroom progress for each day. When doing this the students are able to see areas that they might need to improve on or areas that they are excelling at. Students will lose Class Dojo points by doing some of the following, not staying on task after being already being warned, being disruptive in or outside of the classroom, and etc. Students will then receive a detention if they have already been verbally warned, lost a Class Dojo point, and or bullying. The last two consequences are more severe and they have already failed to comply with the first three consequences.
